Show 3 – Tuesday 7th July 2015
Tonight’s inspirational garden was designed and built by the very talented Jo Penn and her team. Set against the stunning back-drop of the Cornish sea-side, this gorgeous garden provides the perfect setting for Alan to find ideas for Chris Finney’s garden.
Jo transformed the garden for the new owners with extensive restoration and refurbishment. Views of the ocean were re-opened after being swallowed by over-grown planting and new terraces and seating areas were created using composite decking.
Much care was taken in the plant selection to ensure the garden not only looked picture perfect throughout the year but also withstood the harsh extremes of coastal weathers.
The Eden Project
Episode 4 also saw Katie Rushworth invited for an out-of-this-world experience at The Eden Project in St Austell, Cornwall. As the rain clouds threatened over-head, she determinedly sought out some futuristic insight for the Finney’s garden. And she certainly found a lot to get her creative juices flowing! If it will grow outside in Cornwall, the Eden Project will have it and with some inspiring ideas on how to grow things in unusual ways, Katie was itching the get back to the garden…
