Inspirational Garden

This week’s award winning inspirational garden is designed by Helen Elks-Smith. This beautiful country garden in the New Forest cleverly makes the most of its stunning location. The planting is naturalistic in style using a combination of herbaceous perennials, ornamental grasses, native trees and shrubs. The garden becomes wilder as it moves away from the house featuring both a wild flower meadow and curved stone seat which makes the most of the beautiful views to the heathland beyond. Sibton Park

Sibton Park

Sibton Park is an exclusive, self-catering estate in Suffolk. The manor, which dates from 1827, is a spectacular example of a Grade II* listed country house built to designs in the classical style by architect Decimus Burton.
We went to see their naturally-filtered oval pool with integrated hot tub, sheltered in a hollow and accessed via a series of spectacular grass terraces designed by the renowned landscape architect Kim Wilkie. More details can be found at:

Hadleigh Park Mountain Bike Trail Centre

Hadleigh Park is a world class sports facility with one of the UK’s best mountain biking courses at its heart.  Both beautiful and diverse; visitors can experience the London 2012 Olympic mounting biking course, explore idyllic countryside,  magnificent views and discover wildlife making it the ideal setting for a great day out. The Hobbit Hole

We visited Olly Wotherspoon’s gorgeous hobbit hole to find inspiration for the Drakes garden. Olly built it by hand and both he and his children thoroughly enjoy using it all year round. If you want to find out more, visit his website
