Inspirational Locations – Episode 7 Tuesday 22nd October 2019

Sometimes called the Garden in the Forest Alan loved visiting Nant Y Bedd, an imaginative 6.5 acre enchantment set high in the Brecon Beacons Black Mountains.

Nant y Bedd is more than just a garden; it’s part of the living landscape, bounded by the forest and the beautiful Grwyne Fawr river.

Lovingly created over 38 years, Sue and Ian have been constantly evolving the space to create exciting features to enhance nature.

Blending wild and tame there is imaginative planting, a shepherd’s hut, tree sculpture within magical forests.

The garden and its surroundings seamlessly blend into one another. The winding paths lead you to a river walk, stream and  ‘designer’ dry-stone walls.

Nant y Bedd comes as a complete surprise with a wonderful mix of organic vegetables, stone and timber water features.  Ducks, chickens, sheep, pigs, cats roam amongst the wildflowers, natural swimming ponds, vegetable and fruit gardens, bridges, and mature trees.
