In this episode of Love Your Garden, Alan visits an absolutely stunning, enormous garden in the area of Farnham. Built and designed by the award winning Landscape and Design team, PC Landscapes – who over the past 22 years have worked to deliver breath-taking gardens and bring clients’ visions to life.
When designing the garden, they had to work with the gardens steep façade, and incorporate this into the landscaping, and planting within the garden. This resulted in the garden having an ‘amphitheatre’ effect of planting when seated on the lower terrace.
The garden has the perfect balance between a traditional country garden, and some stunning contemporary features; which really draw the eye around the garden. The designers utilized Corten steal to give the borders crisp edges, and a beautiful uniform look around the garden. Following from this, the garden has a truly unbelievable pond constructed out of the same material, which dominates the upper terrace of the plot.
Complementary materials were vital, and sawn sandstone was used to contrast with the rusting steel work. The flights of steps are all illuminated with stainless steel louvered lights to create a fabulous effect in the evening as you move through the planting.
The garden is truly a paradise for its owners; and their friends and family. With several distinct seating areas, each with its own unique perspective of the garden, and one with a stunning Living Wall featured above – the garden is truly one that the owners will never grow tired of, and will be cherished for years to come.
